     The unconscious mind manages and controls the activity that we have reduced to habit. It is our "muscle memory". After you have learned such activities as walking, driving a car or playing a sport, you no longer have to direct them with your conscious mind. You do these things automatically. In fact, the conscious mind gets in the way. 
      There are good habits and bad habits and clients see me for both. Good habits include increased concentration, memory improvement, goal setting, sports improvement, self hypnosis
and techniques to increase self confidence. Bad habits include smoking, over and under eating, tics, nail biting, hair pulling, teeth grinding, stuttering, stammering, thumb sucking and bedwetting. Please see my article on weight problems at
